Itinerary

DAY 1 - ARRIVE AT CHIANG MAI

Overnight flight to Chiang Mai via Bangkok.

DAY 2-3 - CHIANG MAI

Arrive and transfer to the Tamarind Village for a 2-night stay. Optional tours available to visit an elephant camp and explore the famous night markets.

DAY 4 - CHIANG MAI

Drive to Chiang Rai. Stay at Le Meridien Chiang Rai Resort for 2 nights (upgrades available to the Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort). (B)

DAY 5 - CHIANG MAI

Visit the Golden Triangle where Laos, Thailand and Burma meet and discover the ancient Lanna kingdom of Chiang Saen. (B)

DAY 6 - MEKONG CRUISE TO PAK BENG

Cross the border into Laos and board a Luang Say Mekong cruise vessel for the journey downriver to Pak Beng. Stay overnight in the simple Luang Say Lodge. (B, L, D)

DAY 7 - LUANG PRABANG

Visit the local morning market, then sail downstream to the Pak Ou caves. Continue to Luang Prabang, and stay at The Luang Say Residence for 3 nights. (B, L)

DAY 8-9 - LUANG PRABANG

Tour the ancient temple district, visiting Buddhist temples and the National Museum, housed in a former royal palace. (B)

DAY 10 - FLY TO PAKSE

Fly to Pakse. Transfer to Residence Sisouk for 1 night. (B)

DAY 11-12 - MEKONG CRUISE

Morning excursion to the Vat Phou temple, then transfer to the Vat Phou vessel for a 2-night cruise. Cruise along the river stopping at villages and temples. (B, L, D)

DAY 13 - SI PHAN DON

Explore Si Phan Don (the 4,000 Islands region) including a visit to the mighty Khone Phapheng Falls. Coach transfer back to Pakse and stay at the Residence Sisouk for 1 night. (B)

DAY 14 - DEPARTURE

Fly to Vientiane and connect with a flight to your next destination. (B)
